Junior Enlisted Families at Peterson AFB are MELTING!

July 15, 2021

As a part of my involvement with the Military Affairs Council (MAC), we at Purpose Planning have become aware of an initiative to provide in-room air conditioning units to 110 homes for junior enlisted families currently living at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.

These families have been living without proper cooling systems for the last several years. In 2019 Colonel Tom Falzarano realized that his team members were literally losing sleep due to the high temperatures in their homes.  The privatized housing company that supports Peterson AFB said that they would not be able to install central air until as late as 2025. So Colonel Falzarono reached out to the MAC and worked on finding a solution.

In 2020, these efforts were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the unfortunate passing of Colonel Falzarano while on active duty.   The MAC has since reenergized it's efforts in providing much needed relief for our active duty service men, women and their families.

The MAC has found the necessary units at a price of $524 each which includes a 3 year warranty. This warranty should bridge the gap until proper centralized air conditioning can be installed.

Purpose Planning and it's staff are donating 4 units and we are reaching out to see if you would like to join us in our support. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of your donation goes directly to the purchase of air conditioning units.  If you are interested in helping us, please email Bethany at bethany@purposeplanning.com and she will give you further instructions.

Thank you for all you do!
