Who Likes Bulldogs? Stubborn but Loyal

April 01, 2022

Over the years, clients occasionally come up with little nicknames for me: The Money Lady, The Checkbook Keeper, or My Money Coach. They are all fun and very much appreciated.

But there is one that has come up more than once, and I’ve got to say it’s my favorite. It makes me swell with pride and stand a bit taller: The Bulldog.  I've always taken this as a compliment, but when it came up again recently, I thought I would do some research on bulldogs.  So I did what anyone does when they want complete and accurate information: I searched the internet. LOL. Specifically Wikipedia. There were various descriptions of bulldogs, but their history and temperament are what stuck out to me.

Bulldogs were bred to BAIT BULLS.  The absurdity of those squat little dogs running around baiting an animal 40 times their size is just outrageous to me.  However, it made them an extremely courageous and stubborn breed.  They are fiercely loyal to their humans and make excellent watchdogs.  And like a bulldog, once I get a hold of something, I pretty much refuse to let it go.  Advocating for my clients is one of the most important aspects of my job and I take it very seriously.  Similarly, all of us at Purpose Planning feel a huge sense of loyalty to our clients, and they to us.  We have had many clients for decades, and their dedication to us is absolutely the reason for our success.

I am sure that you have noticed the drastic decline in quality customer service over the last few years like we all have. There are times where it seems near impossible to find anyone, in any industry, who seems to care about doing their job well and providing good service to paying customers.  We have these same issues as well, but this is where our pluck and determination allow us to shine.  This is what has always set Purpose Planning apart, and it's a huge source of pride for us.

I can't always guarantee you the outcome you are hoping for.  Despite my best efforts, I can't control the market or all of the companies we work with.  But what I can tell you is this: all of us at Purpose Planning care deeply about your success.  And once we sink our teeth into something, we don't let go.
